Requesting Items

Services Fees

  • Items borrowed through Interlibrary Loan are subject to a $3.00 service fee per item
  • Items borrowed through Library by Mail are subject to $1.00 service fee per item 
Automatic Renewals

As of November 6, 2023, all items eligible for renewal will be automatically renewed 4 days before their due date (up to two times). All customers are automatically enrolled in this new program, there is no need to sign up for this service! The new due date will be extended from the original due date, adding another loan period. Customers are responsible for knowing the date in which an item is due. Please be aware that not all items will auto-renew.
Returning Materials

Book returns are placed at each library location for the convenience of customers when libraries are closed. Additionally customers may return items at the Marlton Shop Rite book return or to our Mobile Library.

Tech on loan must be returned to the circulation desk. These items can not be left in a book drop.

Residents of Burlington County who pay the Burlington County Library tax are entitled to free library cards with the Burlington County Library System. Library cards are issued to individuals rather than organizations, businesses or families. Registration for a library card may be made at the circulation desk of any BCLS location or online through the library’s website. A valid photo id and proof of current address must be presented at time of registration/activation. Full borrowing privileges entitle the customer to access to our extensive physical collections at all BCLS locations, public computers, databases, e-collection, live stream video and audio collection, as well as our in-person and virtual programming. Non-residents may join BCLS for an annual fee of $50.00.
Special Needs Collection

This collection features a versatile selection of materials including books, audiobooks, music, DVDs, toys and manipulatives. Our toys and manipulatives may be used in a classroom setting or at home.
