Events for Families and All Ages

Summer Reading Kick-off – June 17, 2- 4 pm at Pemberton Library
All ages are invited to drop by to sign up for the Summer Reading program. You can also create your own mini ice cream sundae to enjoy during this event sponsored by the Friends of the Pemberton Community Library. Registration is required

Chalk the StoryWalk® – June 19, 3 pm at Burlington County Library
The Friends of the Burlington County Library and Burlington County Parks team up to launch a new featured book at our StoryWalk®, Fraser the Forest Ranger by Matthew Schufman. Everyone is invited to use sidewalk chalk to create colorful pictures on the pavement as they read and walk through our StoryWalk®. Enjoy a Grab n’ Go Forest Ranger Craft at the end of the walk! Craft available while supplies last. Please dress for the weather.

Mystery Book Club – June 12, 10 am at Burlington County Library
Share your love of reading a good mystery with the Mystery Book Club! This month we will be discussing author Vaseem Khan and the Inspector Chopra/Baby Ganesh Agency Series. (The Mystery Book Club meets the second Wednesday of each month at 10 am.)

Books & Brews – June 13, 6:30 pm at Brewery Thirty-three with Riverton library
Join Riverton Library for a book club at Brewery Thirty-Three, 601 Lippincott Avenue, Riverton. Come prepared to talk about any book you've read recently. Discuss any genre, fiction or non-fiction, without giving away the ending! (Participants must be 18+ to join the discussion and 21+ to consume alcohol.)

Want to chat with other parents about the parenting book you just read? Please join our library discussion! For this meeting, we'll be talking about friendship for kids and parents. If you don't have the opportunity to read a book, come and chat anyway!

Calling all cozy lovers! Join us on the third Friday of each month to discuss different mysteries. This month’s selection is Loves Music, Loves to Dance by Mary Higgins Clark.

This month's book selection is People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry. You’ll engage in a guided discussion of the book, using questions provided by a librarian. This book club is best suited for adults, but all are welcome to join.

Join us to discuss The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store by James McBride. New members welcome and registration is not required.

This month, we're reading Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI by David Grann. Registration is required

Rogues & Roses Book Club – June 25, 7 pm at Bordentown Library
Join us for our romance book club. Each month we read on theme. For June, we will be reading stories that take us “over the moon.” Are the characters astronauts? Are we in space? Is the town called something moon-related? Is there a bakery that sells moon pies?  New members welcome and registration is not required.

Events for Teens and Tweens

Make-n-Take Teen Volunteers – Weekdays in June, 1 pm at Pemberton Library
Teens ages 13-18 can complete a teen volunteer application on the library’s website and sign up to help out during these programs! Make-n-take volunteers will make sure craft supplies are ready to go and tidy for children. No registration required, but you must complete a teen volunteer application.

Book Buddies Tween Book Club – June 18, 4 pm at Evesham Library
Calling all tweens ages 11-13! This book club is for you. We're reading The Seventh Most Important Things by Shelley Pearsall. (Limited copies are available at the Evesham Library.) Reading the book ahead of time would be ideal, but not required. Registration is required.

Pride Book Discussion – June 20, 4 pm at Burlington County Library
Kids ages 13-15 are invited to join our summer reading book discussion series! June is Pride Month so we will be reading All That's Left in the World by Erik J. Brown. Registration is required.

Egg Drop STEM Challenge – June 25, 3 pm at Burlington County Library
Hey kids ages 9-12, defy gravity in this program sponsored by the Friends of the Burlington County Library by creating your own scientific device meant to keep an egg safe after being dropped from a great height.

Teen Murder Mystery – June 28, 3 pm at Burlington County Library
This mystery is for ages 13-15. There's been a (fake) murder in the library! A priceless manuscript goes missing and a dead body is found. Something is most definitely afoot in the library. Registration is required.

Events for Kids and Toddlers

Make-n-Take Afternoons – Weekdays in June, 1-5 pm at Pemberton Library
Children ages 12 and under are invited to drop in to make a craft in the library’s Children's Area. Supplies will be provided.

Mr. Scott, the Music Man – June 15, 11 am at Pinelands Library
Children ages 2 and up are invited to kick off 2024's Summer Reading program with a performance by Mr. Scott, The Music Man.  Mr. Scott has been delivering his unique, high-energy music and movement performances to thousands of children around the U.S.A. for more than 20 years. Registration is required.

1KBBK Book Club – June 17, 11 am at Burlington County Library
Children ages 5 and under and their caregivers are invited to meet other families taking the One Thousand Books Before Kindergarten challenge and share book recommendations. Gather inspiration for book-related crafts, too! Each month we will highlight a different author.

Summer Story Time on Stage – June 18, 11 am at Burlington County Library
Come join us for summertime fun with stories, songs, and laughter!

Family Sing-Along With Miss Kim – June 19, 10:30 am at Burlington County Library
Kids ages 2-6 go on a musical journey with Miss Kim and her guitar! Featuring beloved children’s songs, movement, shaker eggs and dancing, this program sponsored by the Friends of the Burlington County Library will have you singing and dancing in no time.

Kids' MusicRound – June 19, 10:30 am at Bordentown Library

Children ages 5 and under with their caregivers are invited to join us for a fun, joyful, interactive music program as we sing, move, and dance to children's upbeat songs and chants.

Cooking Class: S'mores Parfaits – June 19, 3 pm at Pemberton Library
Children ages 5 and up are invited to join us for an easy cooking class for kids! This month, make an easy s’mores parfait, the perfect summer treat! Registration is required.

Gnome Painting – June 20, 2 pm at Bordentown Library
Kids ages 7-12 get ready to dress up their gardens by painting and decorating ceramic gnomes, sure to be a great addition to any yard! Registration is required.

The Lizard Guys – June 20, 2 pm at Burlington County Library
Join the Lizard Guys as they introduce us to a variety of animals during this program sponsored by the Friends of the Burlington County Library. One by one, they will hold each animal and explain where it comes from, its diet, and life expectancy while answering any other questions thrown their way!

Bluey’s Wild Adventure – June 24, 3:30 pm at Burlington County Library
Calling all kids ages 5-7! Come have fun at the library with your favorite cartoon character. Play games and make crafts.

Science Heroes: Adventure of the Lost Treasure – June 25, 1 pm at the Burlington County Library Auditorium
Kids ages 5 and up enjoy a treasure-hunting adventure during this program sponsored by the Friends of the Burlington County Library! Along the way, the audience helps the performer conduct science experiments that bring this story to life. Experiment with chemical reactions, air pressure, physical explosions and more! Tickets to this free program will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis starting 30 minutes before the show begins. Seating capacity is limited to 250.

Play with Pippi Longstocking – June 26, 10:30 am at Pinelands Library
Ages 2-6 enjoy storytime with beloved Swedish children's book character, Pippi Longstocking! Play some of Pippi's favorite games from Villa Villekulla, and make a Pippi craft to take home. Registration is required.

Eyes of the Wild – June 26, 2 pm at Burlington County Library
Create memories with your children ages 5 and up to last a lifetime during this program sponsored by the Friends of the Burlington County Library! Meet up to a half dozen live, exotic animals and learn all about them, from where they live to what makes them so special. This fun, funny, and entertaining show is sure to mesmerize everyone from toddlers to adults.

Miss Kim’s Sing Along Concert – June 28, 10:30 am at Bordentown Library
Introduce your children ages 6 and under to the exciting world of music during this program sponsored by the Bordentown Library Association! Featuring beloved children’s songs, as well as movement, shaker eggs and dancing, this event is sure to get your little ones singing and dancing along in no time. Registration is required.
