Joe Laufer Presents New PowerPoint Program on History of BurlCo Library System

The public is invited to attend the first Historians’ Roundtable of the year on Saturday, March 2 at 10 a.m. in the Burlington County Library System’s new 250-seat auditorium at library headquarters in Westampton.

Sponsored by the library system, the roundtable program is an open
“town forum” program led by County Historian Joe Laufer focusing on historical issues of interest to both history enthusiasts and the public at large. During the upcoming session, Laufer also will present a new PowerPoint program entitled “The Burlington County Library System: A History -1921 to 2013 - More than Just Books” in celebration of the new library headquarters expansion.

Popular with members of local history organizations and residents who enjoy the informal dialogue and exchange of ideas, the Historians’ Roundtable program was

introduced in 2011. This will be the first Historians’ Roundtable discussion of 2013 and Laufer once again will be joined by fellow historians Paul W. Schopp and Dave Kimball as they review events focusing on history that will take place in the region during the next few months. Additional topics of interest will include the annual Historic Preservation Awards that will be presented by Burlington County Freeholders in May, and the New Views bus tour of Quaker Meeting Houses that will also take place in May.

Admission to the Historians’ Roundtable is free, but registration is recommended by using the BCLS events’ registration calendar at For a program agenda and more information, go to or call (609) 267-9660, ext. 5020.

Please note: the March 2 roundtable program is expected to conclude at 12:30 p.m. and participants are invited to attend the Burlington County St. Patrick’s Day Parade that will be held in downtown Mount Holly beginning at 1 p.m. that day.
