Great Books Book Discussion Group

Every other Thursday,  the Riverton Library hosts a Great Books discussion group.  Join us as we explore the classics.  Most discussions center around essays, novellas, poetry and short stories.  They include notable greats such as Flannery O'Connor, Thomas Mann, C. S. Lewis, Franz Kafka, etc.

Every Tuesday parents and caregivers are invited to bring their children to program at the Riverton Library at 10:30 am.  Please join us for music, finger play coloring,  and stories.  This program is for all pre-kindergarten ages.

Join us for a wild afternoon of crafts, stories and games. Some of our crafts will be creating penguins, snow men, teddy bear clothes, scarves with mittens, sock puppets, tissue flowers, jewelry, and hats! Theme related games and stories to go with the craft.

Have you ever wanted an historic plaque for your Riverton house?  The Historical Society of Riverton is presenting basic research resources and techniques that can help reveal the interesting history and ancestors of their home.  They will have plaque applications available, too!

Springer-the Dog Who Loves to Read!

Kids

Children are invited to have fun reading to Springer, a reading therapy dog.  Reading therapy dogs provide a relaxed and “dog-friendly” atmosphere, which allows children to practice the skill of reading. . The child relaxes, pats the attentive dog, and focuses on the reading.

Crash: The Tale of Two Species

Learn about the relationship between the horseshoe crab and a bird from South America called the red knot.  James May, an environmental scientist who has studied them for years during the crabs' spawning season, will speak about this remarkable event.
