National Audiobook Month

| Cinnaminson Library

Have you heard? June is National Audiobook Month! Audiobooks can be traced all the way back to 1932. They have been recorded on vinyl records, cassette tapes, and compact discs, and they can even be downloaded digitally. In 2018, the New York Times launched a monthly bestseller list of just the audio format of books. Two years later, there were over 71,000 audiobooks published, making it the largest publishing year for audiobooks ever. They are so popular that the Audio Publisher’s Association created the Audie Awards for best audiobooks.

Audiobooks are also great for juggling different tasks at the same time. Listen to a book while mowing the lawn, relaxing before bed or taking a road trip with the family. Why not check out the newest selection of books available, and then chose one for everyone to enjoy.
