The Art of Crowned Head Wrapping

The Crowned Head Wrapping Workshop will be presented by Latasha Waters. Headwraps are a traditional attire in many African cultures. In addition to learning about this traditional garment, a group tutorial will be conducted to teach you different head wrapping styles, tricks and tips. We hope you enjoy the fun!

During this event we will explore:

  • The clothing's history
  • What it is
  • The way it's made
  • How it's worn
  • Why it's worn
  • Its overall cultural and/or religious significance

Please note you're welcome to the event even if you don't want to make a headwrap. You'll still learn a lot!

  • This event is free and open to the public.
  • Registration is required.
