Award-winning New York Times contributor and author of middle grade graphic novel The Fifth Quarter, Mike Dawson, gives an exciting presentation on how comics work. Audience members will be impressed by his on-the-spot cartooning and giggling at his live drawing demonstration.
Biography:
Mike Dawson is the award-winning cartoonist behind The Fifth Quarter series, two Junior Library Guild gold standard selected graphic novels that tell the story of a fourth-grader determined to prove herself on the basketball court. Mike's comics have also appeared at Slate, The New Yorker, Romper, The Nib, and in the pages of The New York Times. He lives near the Jersey Shore with his family.
