In 2010, Mashable created Social Media Day, observed annually on June 30, to celebrate the way social media has revolutionized communication and brings together people around the world. Social media has not only changed how we communicate and maintain relationships, but also how we view entertainment, market businesses, and so much more. According to Pew Research Center, the top social media platforms in the U.S. include: YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Twitter, WhatsApp, TikTok, and Reddit.
