Meet Colleen

Hi, I’m Colleen. As an assistant administrative analyst for BCLS, I’m responsible for a wide range of tasks that help to keep the library up and running each day. You’ll find me initiating orders, processing payment for books, utilities and supplies, creating reports to help management make decisions, and so much more.

I started working at the Burlington County Library in June of 2021, and while I haven’t worked at any other library locations in the system, I’m not new to library services; before joining BCLS, I worked at a high school library for 17 years. Since coming to BCLS, I’ve had the pleasure of running into so many students and staff I remember from my time at the high school. It warms my heart to know they enjoy visiting the library and taking advantage of all it has to offer. And they always smile when I see them!

My favorite part of the job is assisting the director on projects that reflect the vision for the library system, and I’m never bored. I love the challenge of juggling different tasks each day and collaborating with staff members to work toward common goals. In my leisure time, I love to crochet, watch Star Trek, take walks and, of course, read! My favorite genres are murder mystery, psychological thrillers and historical nonfiction, and my favorite author is Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb.

When it comes to music, my favorite artist is Prince, and my favorite weekends are spent hanging out with my husband and sons. They love sports, so I read or crochet while they watch the games. Since I enjoy multitasking, I also crochet while listening to books or watching my favorite Star Trek episodes. I enjoy the cold weather, too. I was born and raised in Trinidad and even after 30-plus years of living in America, the snow still fascinates me.
