Page Turners Book Club

This month's book selection is Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker by Jennifer Chiaverini.

Gifted seamstress and former slave, Elizabeth Keckley was presented with the incredible opportunity to showcase her skills after she was chosen by First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln to be her personal dressmaker. Having been there for some of the most important and intimate moments in the Lincoln family's lives, Elizabeth and Mary quickly formed an extraordinary friendship that lasted several years. Though the story of their friendship has since been left in the past, Chiaverini sheds some light on it once again in this captivating historical novel.

Our book selections cover all genres and take member input into consideration. During each six month period, we discuss at least one nonfiction book and one classic book. We engage in a guided discussion of the book, using questions provided by a librarian. This book club is best suited for adults, but all are welcome to join.
