“YOUTH VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES FAIR” SET FOR MAY 17
BurlCo Library and Volunteer Center Host Special One-Day Event for Teens
Area youths interested in volunteering their services to some worthy organizations should mark their calendars for the special one-day “Youth Volunteer Opportunities Fair” scheduled for Saturday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Burlington County Library in Westampton.
Hosted by the Burlington County Library System in partnership with the Volunteer Center of Burlington County, the fair will showcase numerous organizations currently looking for a helping hand. During the event, representatives from the various groups will be ready to share information with teens and their parents and guardians about both the summer and year-round volunteer opportunities that are available.
A few of the organizations expected to be present are: the Burlington Center Mall Ministry; Burlington County Municipal Alliances; Compassionate Friends Therapeutic Riding Center; CONTACT TeenLine; Masonic Home; Newborns in Need; Twin Oaks Community Services; Whitesbog Preservation Trust; and the Volunteer Center of Burlington County. Additional organizations will also be showcased.
Founded in 1996, the Volunteer Center of Burlington County is a private, nonprofit organization that provides and promotes volunteer opportunities, programs and services to meet community needs. The center is dedicated to helping individuals and groups find volunteer work that is most suitable to their interests, skills, abilities, location, schedule and age.
