The 74th Annual Tony Awards will be presented online this winter after the ceremony’s original air date was pushed back by the ongoing pandemic. Started in 1947, the Tony Awards (named after Antoinette Perry, the one-time leader of the American Theater Wing), used to be a gala dinner that included dancing and entertainment from Broadway’s biggest performers. The only televised theater awards show, the Tony’s commend the best and brightest stars of the theater world.
