StoryWalk® is an international movement that combines reading with physical activity that’s perfect for the whole family. StoryWalk® celebrates literacy and the great outdoors! As you stroll, walk, skip or run along a path adjacent to the amphitheater at the Burlington County Library, a vividly illustrated picture book will be shared page by page. Literacy tips and activity challenges will entertain your whole family along the way.

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson. Learn more about the history of StoryWalk®.

We’re celebrating our first StoryWalk® with a fun Kick-off Party!

When: Wednesday, June 9 at 10:00 am

Where: The path right next to the amphitheater at the Burlington County Library. Be sure to park in the front or side lots and begin StoryWalk® near the concession stand next to the amphitheater.

What: Enjoy music, books and fresh air while walking along StoryWalk®. Our first book is Explorers of the Wild by Cale Atkinson. Read together, take the activity challenges along the way, tag us in a selfie using #bclsreads and grab a craft to do at home. Afterward, join us for a sing-along with Mr. Scott the Music Man beginning at 10:30 am in the amphitheater. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chairs.

StoryWalk® is a permanent installation. Keep coming back to discover new stories! Sponsored by the Friends of the Burlington County Library Inc. and Burlington County Parks Department.

Rain Date: The program is weather dependent. Weather-related cancellations will be posted by 9:00am the day of the program. The rain date is Wednesday, June 16 at 10:00am.
