StoryWalk® is an outdoor reading experience created to promote physical activity, early literacy and family time together in nature. A vividly illustrated book will be deconstructed and shared page by page as you stroll, walk, skip or run along a path by the amphitheater next to the Burlington County Library in Westampton. Literacy tips and activity challenges will entertain your whole family along the way.

With the help of our community partners, StoryWalk® is a new permanent installation. We invite you to keep coming back to discover new books and activities that celebrate nature, diversity and community.

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.

We invite you to take a stroll along StoryWalk® - located outside the Burlington County Library. Find our beautiful new seasonal book, Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn by Kenard Pak. The story captures the magic of the changing seasons, while fun activities will enhance the experience for your whole family.

Don’t miss the fun! Saturday, September 11 from 11am – 12:30pm, join us along StoryWalk® for crafts and sidewalk chalk to celebrate our latest book.

This is our second book featured along our recently installed StoryWalk®. If you missed Explorers of the Wild by Cal Atkinson this summer, check out our catalog to read about Boy and Bear’s adventure. Looking ahead, we can’t wait to share our next book with you … it’s a clever story about a bus ride with a surprise destination that keeps the reader guessing. This book will be featured in mid-November to celebrate National StoryWalk® Week.

If you’re looking forward to crisp air, sweaters, pumpkins and beautiful colors in nature, be sure to check out some of these other titles to share with your children. Would you like more seasonal titles to enjoy this autumn? Try Book Match – perfect for all ages. Complete the quick survey and let our expert librarians help find just the right books for you!
