Ready to pack away your beach bag and turn your attention to some cozy fall reads? Mark your calendar for the Friends of the Burlington County Library’s four-day book sale. Set for Sept. 22 to Sept. 25 at the Burlington County Library, the sale will feature thousands of used books, as well as a wide selection of DVDs, CDs and more. Pick up a few bargains now and you’ll be all set to curl up with a good book or settle in for a movie while you’re sipping that Pumpkin Spice Latte later!
In addition, a preview sale offered to Friends members only will be held on Thursday, Sept. 22 from 4 to 6 pm. (Become a Friends member at the door for $15 per person, $20 per family, or $10 per senior or senior family. It’s a great way to support your local library.)
Organized by category, most of the donated books will be priced at just $1 each and were not available at previous Friends’ sales. Explore a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction titles, including books about history, cooking, biographies and more. A nice selection of children’s books will also be available. (Look for a separate children’s area set up outside the meeting room featuring books, videos, puzzles and parent/teacher supplies.) DVDs will sell for $2 each and CDs for $1 each.
- Specially priced books marked at $2.50 and up focusing on an array of subjects, including art, cars, the military, gardening and crafts.
- Books about quilting, knitting, crochet, cross stich and fabric crafts priced at $1 and up.
- Discounted books of interest to collectors and dealers priced at $2.50 and up, including signed and limited editions, focusing on fine art, architecture, antiques and collectibles (coins, glass, silver, china, etc.), museum and auction catalogs, classic automobiles, and more.
During the event, the Friends will also have Boscov’s Friends Helping Friends discount passes available for a donation of $5 each and good for 25 percent off on all in-store purchases at any Boscov’s location on Oct. 19 from 8 am to 11 pm.
All book sale proceeds benefit Burlington County Library programming. The Friends welcome donations of new or gently used books for future sales. Please leave your books on the “donation cart” located in the rear of the Burlington County Library. Please do not donate items in poor or damaged condition.
