Get into the spirit of the season by shopping for diverse arts and crafts at Burlington County Library’s Cultural Festival and Holiday Craft Fair, a fun-filled event set for Saturday, Dec. 14 that begins at 10 am and culminates with a live concert in the auditorium.
Plan to bring the whole family to this free event that’s sure to put everyone in a festive mood. Check off some gifts on your holiday list by browsing the unique array of items available for sale. Our talented craft vendors - all from local communities - will be selling handmade bags, totes, candles, crocheted caps, scarves, shawls, fabric scarves, bookmarks, jewelry, baby quilts and more. And don’t forget to sample some tasty food for sale in the library lobby!
After you’ve finished your shopping, take a seat in our 250-seat auditorium to enjoy the 2 pm performance by the Essence of Harmony Choral Society featuring special versions of seasonal tunes. With music arranged and orchestrated by Dave Williamson, this exciting 50-minute concert is being generously sponsored by the Friends of the Burlington County Library and will include the chorus as well as guest soloists, a narrator and orchestra.
A dynamic and vibrant performing arts organization, the Essence of Harmony Choral Society is “dedicated to celebrating the rich tradition of African American spirituals, hymns, gospel, and classical choral music,” according to information found on its website. The group that was founded in 2018 strives to inspire and uplift audiences through powerful performances, and takes pride in “providing a welcoming space for diverse artists to unite and showcase their talents.”
Seating in the Burlington County Library auditorium, which has a strict capacity of 250 people, will begin at 1:45 pm. Please note: tickets for this free performance will be distributed at the auditorium door, one per person, beginning at 1:15 pm. (You are not required to remain in line once you have received your ticket, which reserves your seat for the performance.)
