LIVE, INTERACTIVE WEBINAR WITH “THE LEAN STARTUP” AUTHOR ERIC RIES
Sponsored by Venture HUB BCLS and the Rowan College at Burlington County Workforce Development Institute on Oct. 8

Burlington County Library System (BCLS) Venture HUB and the Rowan College at Burlington County Workforce Development Institute will host a live interactive webinar, “The Golden Age of Entrepreneurship: A Discussion with Eric Ries,” on Thursday, Oct. 8 on the college’s Mount Laurel campus.

Ries is the New York Times bestselling author of “The Lean Startup: How Today’s Entrepreneurs Use Continuous Innovation to Create Radically Successful Business” published by Crown Business. He will talk about his innovative methodology and sit with Leslie Bradshaw, managing director of Made by Many, to discuss next generation leaders, what it really takes to innovate, and how to create a culture that will sustain. The live stream will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in room 102 of the college’s incubators building, located at 100 Technology Way. There will be a drawing for copies of Eric Ries‘ book and “Running Lean” by Ash Maurya.  Admission is free and refreshments will be served.

The “Lean Startup” methodology has disrupted businesses everywhere. As a result of a more innovative, entrepreneurial-based economy, business leaders have been forced to take a fresh look at growth opportunities and the type of organizations they need to build in order to stay competitive. Born out of the startup culture, Lean Startup provides the pathway to business transformation.

A 2001 graduate of Yale University with a B.S. in computer science, Ries co- founded Catalyst Recruiting while still an undergrad. He continued his entrepreneurial career as a senior software engineer at There.com, leading efforts in agile software development and user-generated content. He later co-founded and served as CTO of IMVU, his third startup. In 2007, BusinessWeek named Ries one of the Best Young Entrepreneurs of Tech.

Leslie Bradshaw is a battle-tested innovator, operator, leader, and growth-driver. Currently, she serves as managing partner of Made by Many, an agency that helps clients create digital products that have the potential to transform their businesses. After eight years of launching game-changing digital ventures for Burberry (Art of the Trench), Microsoft (Skype in the Classroom), and Universal Music (Composed), London-based Made by Many brought Bradshaw in to help expand its presence in the U.S. market.

Venture HUB BCLS, an initiative of the Burlington County Library System (BCLS) is dedicated to building an active and vigorous entrepreneurial community with startups, techies, creators, freelancers, telecommuters and collaborators in Burlington County and beyond in alliance with the innovative RCBC Workforce Development Institute that is providing educational and workforce education and training programs for the workforce of today and tomorrow.
