Presented by the New York Chinese Cultural Center, this family-friendly performance features a burst of energy and color. Enjoy traditional Chinese dance and music, a martial arts demonstration, and Chinese acrobat and theatrical players in full makeup and regalia. Special highlights include run-ins with a mischievous lion and lively renditions of the Manhattan-based touring company’s award-winning red ribbon dance.
• PHILADANCO! on Oct. 20
Recognized for artistic integrity and superbly trained dancers, The Philadelphia Dance Company (PHILADANCO) presents an electrifying show featuring two exciting performances. “Folded Prism” is a full company work infusing the choreographic imagery of Thang Dao set to the hypnotic original music compilation by John Levis. “Between the Lines” from choreographer Francisco Gella was inspired by the architectural drawings of Frank Lloyd Wright, who himself was inspired by Beethoven’s lush compositions. www.philadanco.org/
