Crowned Headwrapping Workshop (Virtual)

The Crowned Headwrapping Workshop will be presented by Latasha Waters. Headwraps are a traditional attire in many African cultures. In addition to learning about this traditional garment, a group tutorial will be conducted to teach you different headwrapping styles, tricks and tips. We hope you enjoy the fun!

During this event we will explore:

  • The clothing's history
  • What it is
  • The way it's made
  • How it's worn
  • Why it's worn
  • Its overall cultural and/or religious significance

Attendees who want to make their own headwrap need:

  • 2 yards of headwrap/fabric
  • Hair ties/scrunchies
  • A mirror (if needed)

Please note you're welcome to the event even if you don't want to make a headwrap. You'll still learn a lot!

Registration is required. This event will be hosted live on Zoom. You will receive an email invitation the day of the event.
