Page Turners Book Club

This month's book selection is The Paris Library by Janet Skeslien Charles.

In 1939 Paris, young bibliophile Odile Souchet seemingly has it all, from a handsome suitor to her dream job at the American Library in Paris. With the onset of World War II and the fate of the library being jeopardized by Nazis, Odile fights back the best way she knows how—with books—until the war is finally over.

Over four decades later in 1983 Montana, a widowed Odile captures the interest of her teenage neighbor, Lily, who is fascinated by the life she had in France. An unlikely friendship ensues as the two women realize they are more similar than they could have imagined—including a dark connection from the past.

Page Turners meet the third Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m. Our book selections cover all genres and take member input into consideration. During each six month period, we discuss at least one nonfiction book and one classic book. Genres for the remaining months vary. We engage in a guided discussion of the book, using questions provided by a librarian. Our discussions often branch out into chats about other books and authors. This book club is best suited for adults, but all are welcome to join.
