ASL: Basics for Beginners - Part 1 (Virtual)

This 4-week course teaches the basics of American Sign Language (ASL). It is presented by Theresa A. King, a sign language instructor from Signing Basics. No prior experience is needed. All are welcome!

You’ll learn:

  • The ASL manual alphabet
  • Greetings
  • Days of the week
  • Foods and snacks
  • ASL negations and affirmations
  • Basic ASL sentence structures, which can be used to bring together the signs learned in class

Registration is required for each individual class. Singing up for one class does NOT sign you up for all classes. Class dates include Nov. 7, 14, 21 and 28. You should be prepared to attend this 4-week class in its entirety. Due to the limited number of registrations, please cancel your registration if you can no longer attend. This event will be hosted live on Zoom.

ASL: Basics for Beginners – Part 2 will be offered beginning December 5, 2022. It will be 4-week course that expands upon what you learned in Part 1.

Please note, while your microphone will remain muted, Theresa would like you to turn on your camera for the visual nature of this class.
