Stop by Jan. 29 to Learn About Programs, Services and More
Parents and caregivers of children and teens with special needs are invited to drop by the Bordentown Library on Tuesday, Jan. 29 for a new, library-hosted resource fair featuring representatives from a variety of programs and services.
This informative event, which will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., will include fun activities for children who will be invited to make crafts, play with sensory toys, visit with Isla the therapy dog and more.
In addition, library staff and representatives from organizations in Burlington County that provide services to residents with special needs will be available to share information and answer questions. Organizations expected to be in attendance include: Adorn Beauty Center and Spa; Compassionate Friends Therapeutic Riding Center; NJ Youth Soccer TOPSoccer; Special Olympics of New Jersey; We Rock the Spectrum Kid’s Gym; Family Support Organization of Burlington County; and more. Several learning specialists also will be available to address IEP (Individualized Education Program) questions.
Visitors to the Special Needs Parent Resource Fair also will have an opportunity to explore the library’s updated special needs collection featuring new learning toys, manipulatives and books. Beginning in 2019, the library also will begin to offer new sensory-friendly programs each month.
