Proposals for Commissioned Artwork Being Accepted until Aug. 31

The Burlington County Library System is seeking proposals from qualified artists/artist groups for welcoming, enriching and meaningful artwork to be displayed at three library branches, the Cinnaminson Library, the Maple Shade Library, and the County Library in Westampton.

The new artwork is being sought to enhance the experience of library users in keeping with the spirit of the BCLS mission to enrich lives by providing opportunities for learning, growth, and personal development.

All art proposals must be prepared and submitted in accordance with the guidelines presented in the “Call for Artists” document (available on the library website) by Aug. 31, and finalists may be interviewed by the BCLS Art Selection Committee. Criteria for final selection will include: broad public appeal; artistic excellence; durability and exposure to the environment; ability to enhance the library space; and total cost of art and installation in relation to scope of work.

The project is open to all artists/artist groups in New Jersey and the Greater Philadelphia area (with the exception of library staff, members of the Art Selection Committee or their families). Emerging and established artists and persons from various cultures and ethnic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

For more information about submission requirements and how to apply, go to or contact Christy Kaciuba at (609) 267-9660, ext. 3043.
