We’re so excited to host our first-ever YA Authorfest on Saturday, January 13 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Burlington County Library, and you’re invited!

Come out to meet and mingle with 19 published Young Adult and Middle Grade authors from the tri-state area. They will be seated throughout the library and available for questions, conversation, and book signings! Attendees can also enjoy two interesting panel discussions featuring eight of the visiting authors.

Aspiring novelists will be interested in attending our first panel discussion of the day, The Ins and Outs of Getting Published, from 10:30 to 11:15 am. Panelists will include Megan Atwood, Julie Eshbaugh, Jeffry Johnston and Sabrina Ramoth. Expect to hear lots of useful information as our panelists are familiar with many aspects of the publishing process, including working with indie imprints, and they have inside industry knowledge to share. Be sure to think about what you would like to hear them discuss; there will be time at the end of the session for audience questions!

The day’s second panel, Diversity in YA Lit, runs from 12:45 to 1:30 pm and will explore the representation of marginalized groups in stories for young adults. Panelists will include Maria Andreu, Shveta Thakrar, Maggie Thrash and Ismee Williams, who all have their own experiences with diversity, and reflect that in their published works.

The Friends of the Burlington County Library, Inc. will be selling the authors’ books at the event, so you can support their work and get your copies signed! Sales will be cash or check only, so please come prepared. See you there!
