The Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy is a series of comedic films all starring and written by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost and directed by Edgar Wright. Each installment spoofs a particular genre--Shaun of the Dead spoofs zombie films, Hot Fuzz buddy cop films, The World's End science fiction films--and are all unabashedly British (hence flavours) and hilarious. The title of the trilogy refers to the fact that in each film the characters are seen eating a different flavored Cornetto ice cream.

The last installment of the series, The World's End,  has just been released on DVD and is available at all of our branches..

Shaun of the Dead

There comes a time in every man's life when he has no choice but to get up off the couch and kill some zombies. When flesh-eating zombies go on the hunt for a bite to eat, it is up to Shaun and his best pal Ed to save their friends and family from becoming the next entrée

Hot Fuzz

Nicholas Angel is the finest cop London has to offer. He has an arrest record that is higher than any other officer on the force. As a result, Angel's superiors send him to a place where his talents won't be quite so obvious. They send him to the sleepy and seemingly crime-free village of Sandford. He is partnered with the well-meaning but overeager police officer Danny Butterman, who is the son of the police chief. Danny is a huge action movie fan and believes this may be his chance to experience the life of gunfights and car chases. However, as a series of grisly accidents rocks the village, Angel is convinced that Sandford is not what it seems and as the intrigue deepens, Danny's dreams of explosive, high-octane, car-chasing, gunfighting, all-out action seem more and more like a reality.

The World's End

Twenty years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hellbent on doing it again. They are convinced by mate Gary King, who drags his reluctant pals to their hometown to once again attempt to reach the fabled pub called the World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind's. Reaching the pub is the least of their worries.

In addition to the Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy, the acting and directing team (Pegg, Frost, Wright) first collaborated on a comedy television series that the library also owns, which lasted two seasons.

British comedy television series based on two very different twenty-something people, Daisy Steiner and Tim Bisley, who pretend to be a professional couple to secure tenancy of a North London flat. The two along with their assortment of co-conspirators, tortured artist Brian, would-be soldier Mike, fashion fascist Twist, rock casualty landlady Marsha and Colin the dog, tackle the big questions of the 21st century.
