A gift to the library is a great way to insure that a gift will continue to be used.

May we suggest:

  • A book gift as commemoration. The donor has the option of selecting the subject. A bookplate will be placed in each book.
  • An endowment that will generate interest annually for the purchase of special items such as computer software or literacy materials.
  • A bequest to the library of money or property to ensure the continuation of service to the community through the years.

Monetary Donations

A monetary contribution to the library helps provide for items and services not met by the annual budget. These may include furniture, equipment or special programs such as lectures, concerts or classes. Donations may be sent directly to the library or made through our Friends of the Library groups.

Used Books OR DVDs

The library accepts donations of used books, CDs, DVDs and Blu-Rays that are less than five years old and in good condition. Exceptions may be made if the material has continued popularity or significance to local history. Donations may be added to the collection or given to the Friends of the Library for selling at book sales.

In Memoriam

Many families request that relatives and friends make an In Memoriam donation when they lose a loved one. It’s a meaningful way to express sympathy to the bereaved family.

When you make an In Memoriam donation to the Burlington County Library System, we suggest that you indicate who the donation is in memory of when sending a memorial contribution check to:

Burlington County Library System
Attention: Director, Ranjna Das
5 Pioneer Boulevard
Westampton, NJ 08060

An acknowledgement will be sent to the family.

Many volunteer opportunities are available at the library. While duties vary from location to location, volunteers are needed to help return library material to shelves, maintain shelves, help prepare children's craft projects, index local history information, do general clerical work, and assist the Friends of the Library organization.

Please fill out the volunteer application and bring it with you when you visit your local library.

For teens who wish to volunteer during the Summer Reading Program:

Another great source of volunteer opportunities is the Volunteer Center of Burlington County.
