Looking for something fun to do with the kids for the rest of summer? It’s not too late to Build a Better World and join the Summer Reading program, which isn’t just about reading. We’ve added something new...Activity Tracks. Librarian curated, these activities are chock full of interesting crafts, recipes and adventure. Children will earn prizes for completing them and build lasting family memories while working on them together.

Here’s how it works:

Begin at the Summer Reading tab on the Burlington County Library System’s website and click on Beanstack, the library’s online tracker to sign in or register. After your account is found or created, select the green button, Log Reading and Activities, to discover all of the adventures in the eight different Activity Tracks just right for children ages 12 and under. These activities are grouped together to help you Build a Better World through adventure, friendship, healthy living, kindness, knowledge, nature, art and play. Choose your favorite activities in each category to complete and earn more Summer Reading prizes, which may be redeemed at your local library. Click on the links provided to learn how to make your own sidewalk chalk or ice cream, find a map of Burlington County parks, help local animal shelters, make kindness rocks, learn about a new culture, and much more.

There’s still time! Why not take advantage of these final few weeks of Summer Reading by logging your reading and exploring some activities? And remember, Summer Reading wraps up August 12 and many of our locations are hosting End-of-Summer Reading celebrations.  Don’t miss a chance for summer fun, new friendships, and prizes!
