Last month, the Cinnaminson Library hosted writing workshops by the New Jersey Authors' Network in support of NaNoWriMo, also known as the “National Novel Writing Month”. The NaNoWriMo challenge has writers start and finish an entire novel of 50,000 words within the month of November. This year, 312,026 writers completed the challenge.
Cinnaminson Library enjoyed an enthusiastic response to the writing workshops, so much so that the participants requested that a regular writing group be established. Writing can be very lonely work, and writers can never quite be sure how their work will be understood or misunderstood. It helps to have other writers around to offer a fresh perspective and helpful ideas. Local author Tina Gabrielle has generously stepped up to lead this new group. The Writers’ Critique group will meet the last Saturday of every month, from 3:30pm-5:00pm. This is a drop in group, so new writers are welcome to join at any time. Bring extra copies of your work to share and any questions or concerns you wish to discuss. You can sign up for the Writers’ Critique Group by calling Cinnaminson Library’s Adult reference desk at 856-829-9340. The next meeting is Saturday, December 28th, at 3:30pm.
