Besides seeking shelter, fluffing up their feathers, and shivering to produce body heat, there's one very important action birds take to stay warm: they eat! A lot! You can help our feathered friends by setting up a bird feeder in your backyard. The snowbirds will flock to it.

This is perfect timing; besides all the snow, the Great Backyard Bird Count is being held from February 14th to 17th this year.  Any one can participate by observing species, and submitting a checklist online.
