The Maltese Falcon, the classic film-noir mystery directed by John Huston and released in theaters in October of 1941. This dark, intriguing and suspenseful film stars Humphrey Bogart, Mary Astor, Gladys George and Peter Lorre. Ranked in the top ten of Mystery films by the American Film Institute. The movie was nominated for three Academy Awards:  Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay.
