Ellis Parker: Burlington County's First Detective

Marisa Bozarth, Burlington County Parks Department and Prison Museum, will present a program on Ellis Parker who became the first Chief Detective of Burlington County, New Jersey and played an infamous role in the Lindbergh kidnapping case. Ellis Parker solved 288 out of 300 crimes that he worked on throughout his career, making him one of the most well-known and respected detectives of his time.

Skulls and Bones Detective

Hosted by the staff of the Rancocas Nature Center. Ever stumble on animal bones while hiking through the woods? How can you tell if the animal was an herbivore or a carnivore? What is the difference between an antler and a horn? Learn about animals from the inside out, and how to ID skulls and bones by looking at size, shape, structure and skull features. This program features hands-on activities and utilizes samples of vertebrate animal bones and skulls from Rancocas’ collection. Kids ages 8+ (3rd-7th grades)

The Maltese Falcon, the classic film-noir mystery directed by John Huston and released in theatres in October of 1941.  This dark, intriguing and suspenseful film stars Humphrey Bogart, Mary Astor, Gladys George  and Peter Lorre.  Ranked in the top ten of Mystery films by the American Film Institute.  The movie was nominated for three Academy Awards:  Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay.
