Noted historian Paul W. Schopp and archeologist John W. Lawrence will present a lecture on the Lenape, European settlement, and early colonial life along the North Branch of Rancocas Creek.

We typically think of the Native Americans who occupied New Jersey and the Europeans who encountered them as leading completely separate lives. Radically different in many respects, they did share some common concerns, one of which was how to survive off the natural resources of the land. Mr. Schopp and Mr. Lawrence will discuss some of the common ways that both Natives and colonists settled and used the land and its resources, as well as what distinguished their approaches to the natural world around them.
