Meeting Room

The Maple Shade Library in cooperation with the Red Cross and Walt Disney are please to present The Pillowcase Project. Children in NJ are no strangers to natural disasters like Hurricane Sandy and this program has been designed to offer children aged 8 to 11 a training in emergency preparedness. Children will receive a pillowcase to decorate and pack with emergency supplies and tips for what to do in the event of a natural disaster. The Red Cross volunteer is limiting this program to children who are 8 to 11 years old, but siblings may attend as audience members. There is also a release form for parents to sign, so if you are a camp leader or caregiver please contact Miss Kristie ahead of time for the forms. Photos/videos will be taken during the program for Red Cross training purposes. This is a pilot program and the library is honored to be one of the test centers. Registration is also required as the presenter would like to make sure they have enough materials for each attendee.
