This event has been cancelled, we apologize for the inconvenience.

Local authors Susan Jolley and Allan Arpajian will discuss their book, which tells the story of their aunt, Philadelphia artist Mary Zakarian, whose life and work were deeply impacted by her mother's experiences as a survivor of war and genocide. The authors will give both personal and historical accounts that will shed light on many issues, including immigration and assimilation, art and culture, and gender and identity. Their story details the role trauma plays in individuals and family dynamics. In addition to sharing selections from their book, there will be a display of Mary Zakarian's paintings and a beautifully arranged slide show. Certain to be an informative and important gathering.
