January 6 – Jailhouse Rock (1957)- One of the best of Elvis Presley's pre-Army films, Jailhouse Rock offers us the sensual, "dangerous" Elvis that had won the hearts of the kids and earned the animosity of their elders.  Rating: PG, 216 minutes.

January 13 – Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958)-. Brick, an alcoholic ex-football player, drinks his days away and resists the affections of his wife, Maggie. His reunion with his father, Big Daddy, who is dying of cancer, jogs a host of memories and revelations for both father and son.  Rating: NR, 108 minutes.

January 20 – Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner (1967)- Matt and Christina Drayton are a couple whose attitudes are challenged when their daughter brings home a fiancé who is African American. Rating: NR, 108

January 27 –Funny Girl (1968)- The life of comedienne Fanny Brice, from her early days in the Jewish slums of the Lower East Side, to the height of her career with the Ziegfeld Follies, including her marriage to and eventual divorce from her first husband, Nick Arnstein. Rating: G, 151 minutes.
