Meeting Rooms A & B

Stop by The County Library on June 30 at 7:30 p.m. to hear the compelling story of Megan DeGeorge, cofounder and chief operating officer of Think Like a Girl (TLAG), a startup company of young entrepreneurs seeking to empower girls “to develop into our world’s problem solvers.”

A South Jersey-based company, TLAG is working to bring STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) skills to girls by developing a subscription service of engineering kits for ages 6 to 12 that encourages them to learn in ways they enjoy. The company also aims to serve as a community that encourages females to enter technical fields and connect with like-minded individuals.

Last year, TLAG won first place in Rowan University's Elevator Pitch Competition, administered by its Rohrer College of Business. Rowan's Innovation Venture Fund awarded the TLAG team $5,000 to work on market research, prototyping and business development. The company also just launched a kickstarter campaign to seek additional funding.

Learn more about this innovative company as well as the special programs for kids that TLAG will be bringing to each library branch this summer.

Megan’s appearance also celebrates the last session of the BCLS pilot Lean Venture Series, so, as a bonus, you will have a chance to meet our first cohort of “graduates!”

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED / SPACE IS LIMITED. Please sign up via the library’s Venture HUB meetup page.  (You will need to create a free account if you don’t already have one.)
