Our February speaker, Dr. Herman Beavers, received his BA from Oberlin University, his first MA from Brown University a second MA and PhD from Yale University.  Dr. Beavers teaches African-American and American Literature at the University of Pennsylvania and is an author of poetry and short stories.  He believes his courses are much more about questions than answers especially when it comes to race, gender and class.
