French Gardens -- Monday, July 14, at 7:30 p.m. -- The Burlington County Gardeners Association will present a lecture on French Gardens.
As we deepen our knowledge about gardening, it is useful to explore what "the garden" means in other cultures. The many public gardens of France evolved through the tender care of families wishing to create space for contemplation, culinary specialties and gentle recreation. Certain plants symbolize those gardens: lavender, for example, is farmed by the acre and used also to carefully delineate home gardens along the walkways. Join us for a brief overview of gardens from the coast of Brittany to the Alps. Learn how you can combine French style in your own New Jersey garden. All are welcome. No registration required.
