Burlington County Library System teams up with the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary to offer boating safety courses. All boaters and personal watercraft operators are required to have a NJ State Police issued boating safety certificate on board while underway on NJ waterways.

This 8 hour course provides the “must know” on boating and personal watercraft topics such as:

  • Things to know before leaving the dock
  • Basic navigation
  • Required equipment
  • Trailering
  • Legal requirements – Federal and State
  • Boating emergencies

These courses are approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators and include lectures, student workbook, handouts and testing to meet NJ State requirements. Upon successfully completing the course the US Coast Guard Auxiliary will process the required NJ State Police paperwork on your behalf. A temporary certificate is awarded at the completion of the course.
