Attention all aspiring artists, between the ages of 16 and 22! This summer the BCLS will be offering three art class series', held over 8 weeks. You will have the opportunity to learn the basics of comics, an intro to figure drawing, and color theory. Each class runs around 2 hours.

Intro to Comics:

In this course, students will be given an entertaining crash course in comics and cartooning (Western and non-Western) history as well as the theory of visual narratives. However, the course will focus on crafting each student’s own 2-3 page story arc and turning it into a comic. This class is especially geared towards those who want to explore careers in related fields and expand their knowledge of the art form.

  • Monday, July, 11, 18, 25, August 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 – 1pm to 2:45pm
  • Registration is required and is for Intro to Comics only, other classes require separate registration
  • Ages 16-22 years old
  • Most materials will be provided for each student-however for this class students are required to bring: 9 x 12 Mixed Media drawing pad
