Blind Date With a Book
Celebrate Valentine’s Day by going on a blind date….
with a book (perhaps one you’ve never met before).

The rules are simple.

Come into the Library Company of Burlington and select one of the sealed bags here on the desk .

Please do not open the bag until after you have checked out at the Circulation Desk.

Remember—this is a blind date so be brave!

Fill out the “Rate Your Date” slip contained inside with the book and hand it back to the Library Company of Burlington's Circulation Desk by February 28th.
*For ages 18 & over please.

Completed slips will be entered to win a prize!

Showing of the documentary "The Abolitionists" will be followed by a discussion with a representative from the John Woolman Memorial Association.  This powerful PBS documentary brings to life the struggles of the men and women who led the battle to end slavery.  In the documentary, you will meet five leaders of the anti-slavery movement: New England newspaper editor, William Lloyd Garrison; former slave, author, and activist, Frederick Douglass; Angelina Grimké, daughter of a rich South Carolina slaveholder; Harriet Beecher Stowe, author of the enormously influential Uncle Tom's Cabin; and John Brown, ultimately executed for his armed seizure of the federal arsenal at Harpers Ferry.

Would you love to see a raptor up close and personal? Stop by the library on a cold, winter afternoon and learn all about hawks, owls, and other birds of prey. This interactive program hosted by Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge is geared towards kids 4 and up but is great for any curious nature lover ( including adults!).  Registration is suggested.

@ Evesham

Come join Ms. Elayna as we dive into the world of Erin Hunter's "Warriors" books! We will be creating our own clan for the library, choosing warrior names, and doing other activities based on the books. Participants do not need to have read the whole series. Whether you read one or all of them, all fans are welcome!

Ages 7 - 15
