This is a progressive class, participants sign up for the whole 8-week session at the beginning.

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese system of slowly flowing movements and shifts of balance that strengthens and conditions the body.  Originally developed as a martial art, today it is mainly practiced as a form of exercise and meditation.  Daily practice reduces stress, increases stamina, and strengthens the body and will.

Knitters of all levels are invited to join us for this 3-week series. Bring a project that you are working on or pick one out at class. Beginners please bring size 10 knitting needles. The yarn will be provided.

January 6 – Jailhouse Rock (1957)- One of the best of Elvis Presley's pre-Army films, Jailhouse Rock offers us the sensual, "dangerous" Elvis that had won the hearts of the kids and earned the animosity of their elders.  Rating: PG, 216 minutes.

January 13 – Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958)-. Brick, an alcoholic ex-football player, drinks his days away and resists the affections of his wife, Maggie. His reunion with his father, Big Daddy, who is dying of cancer, jogs a host of memories and revelations for both father and son.  Rating: NR, 108 minutes.

January 20 – Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner (1967)- Matt and Christina Drayton are a couple whose attitudes are challenged when their daughter brings home a fiancé who is African American. Rating: NR, 108

Want to learn how to knit or crochet? Or just hang out and knit or crochet with new friends? Join us! Beginners: please come prepared with at least size 10 knitting needles or at least size G or H crochet hook and we'll supply the practice yarn! Learn basic stitches to get started on a project. Program is for children & teens ages 7 & up. Registration is not required to attend.

Facebook for Beginners is a class at the library that offers to show people just about everything they should know when signing up for the service. From signing up to the service to how to add updates and pictures to how to manage from privacy, Andy the librarian will take you step-by-step through the process. Facebook is a great way of staying in contact with family and friends both near and far.

Teens can drop in any time between 4pm and 8pm to make a designer bookend for their home collection. The library will supply the bookends and the crafting supplies in the teen section.

Join us for a LEVEL 1 class in rubber stamping and paper crafting. Learn basic techniques that can be used to make beautiful handmade cards, scrapbook pages and other projects.

NOTE: Please bring your own scissors, adhesives, and a paper cutter (if you have one.) You also might find a bone folder helpful, but it is not required.

Registration begins on Monday, December 30th at 10:00am.

Need to type a letter?  Then this is the class for you! Microsoft Word is the word processing application in the Microsoft Office Suite so come and learn the basics:  cut, copy & paste, saving and opening documents, toolbars, menus, and more.  Mouse skill is required.

Join others to practice speaking English in this relaxed group. This group is best for people who already know English but want additional practice.

Come find some calm and flexibility with poses, stretches and balancing that can bring energy, relaxation, balance, optimism, purpose, insight and clarity to you. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a mat or blanket to lie on. Men and women welcome!
