The Department serves as Burlington County’s agent for economic development and regional planning.

Economic Development attracts businesses to the county; provides demographic and economic information to the public; offers location assistance to business; administers county small business loan programs; coordinates economic development programs among government agencies; assists in business retention efforts; and serves as a business ombudsman to improve and enhance economic development in the county.

Regional Planning undertakes regional and county-level planning efforts, and provides planning assistance to municipalities. The office manages several regional initiatives: the River Corridor Revitalization Plan, the Northern Burlington Growth and Preservation Plan, and the Joint Base Area Land Use Study. It is responsible for facilitating the State Plan Cross-acceptance process in Burlington County.
