Burlington County Library Hosts New “Victorian Family Festival”
Step Back in Time and Enjoy Some Old Fashioned Holiday Fun Dec. 11, 5-8 p.m.

Visit the Burlington County Library on Friday, Dec. 11 to enjoy some 1800s-style holiday fun during the new “Victorian Family Festival” scheduled to be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Westampton facility.

All ages are invited to this family-friendly event that will celebrate a simpler time and the magic of an old fashioned holiday complete with carolers, gift making, and a sing-along. To help turn back the clock, visitors are welcome to wear 19th Century style-attire to the festival, and admission is free.

This is the first time the library is hosting this event, which will include light refreshments and holiday music by the Rancocas Valley Singers. Children also will be invited to use the library’s rhythm sticks and jingle bells to participate in a sing-along with the choir. Founded by Deb Vanneman, former director of choirs and musical theater at Rancocas Valley Regional High School in Mount Holly, the ensemble is comprised of 28 former RVRHS Concert Choir members who perform all genres of primarily a cappella choral music.

During the festival, there also will be craft tables and a gift wrapping station for those who would like to make a few “homemade gifts” for family and friends (while supplies last), including a paper wreath, a clothespin doll, and a simple holiday ornament.

There will also be a special “North Pole” mailbox for children who want to make sure their wish lists get to Santa. (Mom and Dad may want to keep a copy of that list, though, since the library will be unable to facilitate a response from Santa’s workshop.)

Registration for the Victorian Family Festival is requested, but not required. The Burlington County Library is located on Pioneer Boulevard off Woodlane Road in Westampton. For more information, call (609) 267-9660.
